Large-scale Russian Strikes Eliminate Power Across Kyiv

Energy infrastructure under attack in Ukraine
Ukraine's power facilities have come under increased strikes in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Moscow's aerial assaults have led to blackouts in large parts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were wounded while local people in eastern districts were left without electricity and encountered interruptions to water systems, according to municipal leaders.

Meanwhile, a seven-year-old child was fatally injured in a separate Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, according to local officials.

Moscow has intensified strikes on electrical systems over recent weeks, while officials has called for "substantial measures" from allies to apply pressure on Moscow.

"What's needed is not window dressing but firm measures - from the US, Europe and the G7 - in supplying defensive weapons and applying penalties," mentioned in a social media post.

Authorities reported that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and over thirty projectiles struck energy facilities, labeling such assaults as "premeditated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as the weather cools.

Energy officials said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and maintenance teams were laboring to restore power.

A wave of strikes hit electrical systems and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Multiple people injured in the attacks on the capital have been hospitalized, as confirmed by municipal representatives.

Local officials said the metropolitan region experienced heavy assaults during nighttime hours. A young boy died and multiple civilians were hurt.

The strikes succeed nights of air raids in the region, portions of which are occupied by Moscow's military.

The whole nation is in a state of readiness for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are tougher to detect.

Government officials told reporters that Russia was purposely seeking to destroy the national power system, with strikes already impacting fuel infrastructure.

Officials stated technical personnel and government agencies were preparing for more assaults.
